Since Nirvana last took to the Reading Festival stage a whole generation has been born and grown up. Finally after all the bootlegged copies, this legendary gig is available on DVD and CD.The first thing you notice is how the Reading Festival main stage has changed. Only seventeen years ago and all the huge video screens and fancy lighting rigs are gone. Despite its differences, there is something that tells you this is the Reading Festival, and not just the DVD case. The next noticeable thing is how young Dave Grohl looks.
Nevermind is performed nearly in its entirety, along with other Nirvana classics. And there’s something about it that you just can’t look away. Whether it’s Kurt Cobain in a medical gown or if its Grohl throwing his symbols at his drum kit, it’s a mesmerising performance.
Truly a great DVD whether you’re the most diehard of fans or just like a few Nrvana songs.
