'Unholy Confessions' comes from the Californian five-piece’s second studio album ‘Waking The Fallen’ released in 2003. This album was the first to feature Johnny Christ on bass replacing Daemon Ash. This album is said to be the last A7X album to feature their metalcore sound although there are more clean vocals than their first album ‘Sounding The Seventh Trumpet.’
The video for ‘Unholy Confessions’ was recorded during a live performance by the band at the Music Box of the Henry Fonda Theatre, the actual song was then dubbed over. A7X’s record deal with Warner Bros Records requested a video for the song. The band didn’t like how the original concept from a year before (2003) turned out and so went back to the start. Mixed in with the live footage is clips of fans getting Avenged Sevenfold tattoos, playing guitar and piano and Johnny Christ posting the band’s stickers all over Hollywood Boulevard outside where the live footage was filmed.

“I Don’t Care” was Fall Out Boy’s first single from their most recent album “Folie à Deux.” It was released in September of 2008 and was included in the ‘100 singles of 2008’ according to Rolling Stone.
Patrick Stump (Vocals/Guitar) has said the track is about the superficiality and selfishness that is associated with pop culture. It’s a political song, but not in the traditional sense.
The video for the song features guest appearances from former Guns N’ Roses member Gilby Clarke, Mark Hoppus from Blink 182, Pharrell Williams from N*E*R*D*, Gabe Saporta from Cobra Starship, Spencer Pratt and Sarah Palin.
Fall Out Boy’s bassist, Pete Wentz, posted a blog about the product placement in iTunes edited version of the video, which Fall Out Boy had not approved. Wentz said “Imagine seeing this edit only after you buy the video off of iTunes and realizing that no one even had the balls to call you and tell you they were changing the video and cutting parts.”
Wentz went on to say “this will probably end up deleted by me or someone else", by the next morning, the post was replaced with an image of Popeye and Bluto, with the word "censored" taped across their mouths.

'Fallen Leaves' was the third single to come from Billy Talent's 2006 release. This album had less anger than Billy Talent I and focused on more real life issues.
'Fallen Leaves' itself was about two friends who nearly died as a result of heroin addiction. The lyric "Just one more hit, and I'll be fine. I swear to God this'll be my one last time!" reflects the tragedy of the speakers life.
Originally the song was called 'Falling Leaves' but as the lyric in the song is "Fallen leaves, fallen leaves, fallen leaves on the ground". Billy Talent realised this didn't really make sense and so changed it to it's current name.
The song holds the record for fastest song to fall from number 1 in the MuchMusic Countdown. Despite this it is a huge favourite when seeing the band performing live. With Billy Talent III coming soon, a tour can't be far away and I recommend seeing these guys if possible.

This week’s song is ‘Shut Me Up’ by Mindless Self Indulgence (MSI) and comes from their 2005 album ‘Straight To Video’. This album was the first to feature Lyn-Z on bass and on the sleeve of the album was “A warning for those of you lazy self absorbed and/or just plain inattentive parents”. The warning went along the lines of parents should look at themselves before blaming everything on MSI’s lyrics.
The band assigned themselves the genre of ‘Industrial Jungle Pussy Punk’, and mix musical genres from shock rock, electronica, punk and industrial.
The single itself was released in September 2006 and reached number 7 in the Billboard Hot Single Sales chart. The video for it featured a store clerk who days after going to a MSI gig, goes insane and explodes. To hear the song just go to our MySpace page.

This weeks song, 'Never Take Us Alive' comes from Madina Lake's second studio album, the soon to be released 'Attics To Eden'. The seriously catchy song is the first single to be taken from the album. If you hadn't heard of Madina Lake before now then you're very likely to soon as this song is everywhere.
For those new to the Chicago based four piece Madina Lake are made up of Mateo Camargo (guitar), Dan Torelli (drums) and the Leone twins, Nathan (vocals) and Matthew (bass). The twins took part on a special edition of Twin Fear Factor where they won $50,000, this money then went straight into the band to pay for recordings and their first demo in 2006.
Madina Lake are currently on tour in the UK with the Audition and Flood of Red, promoting their new album which is released on Monday the 4th of May. Just go to our MySpace page to hear the song.

This is going to be a new piece. Ever Monday we will have a song of the week, from old classic tunes to new bands you may not have heard of. You’ll be able to hear the song on our MySpace page (link on the right) and get a bit of background on it on here. Hope you all enjoy, and to start with it is 30 Seconds to Mars’ A Beautiful Lie.
This song comes from the bands second studio album of the same name and was the fourth single to be released from it. 30STM’s fans in the Echelon and The Mars Army got to chose between A Beautiful Lie and The Fantasy as to which they preferred because the band could not decide.
The video for the song, directed by Angakok Panipaq, has a strong environmental message and shows the band playing on the edge of an iceberg. Jared Leto (Vocals/Guitar) has said that the video will be environmentally safe and for every download of the video, money will go to an environmental charity.
